Case very well built, meticulously Re: LightScribe: With MilMascaras First and foremost, this is probably one of the best IDE to USB external 5.25-fence "fence out there are very well built, and is slightly larger than a typical minor 5.25 .. "But the extra dimension is there for all the right reasons: It has an internal power supply and uses a standard power cord, rather than an external power brick property. And most significantly, this thing solidly built. It's worth it, and is a solid first cabinet. I can understand why most people give it 5 stars. I'll just give it 4 stars, but still recommends it ... Why: Lack of support Lightscribe. That was my main reason to buy this case ... Most people who are about to attack an internal DVD burner, beautiful things, and many DVD burners with LightScribe is now standard. I was hoping to use it mainly for my LightScribe label burning LightScribe support is hit or miss with this unit: After I put mine together, I was very impressed with the results, very professional. He has a humungous blue LED on the front panel, which I covered with black tape, as the panel most brightest light I've seen in a single bay enclosure. My machine is very quiet, seems very efficient fan and I find it a turn on / off is on the back. I have burned dual-layer DVDs perfectly, even burn and reliable in quality and higher quality media cheap. I had 100% reliability on my burns. My Plextor PX-870A it works perfectly, except for LightScribe labeling. I can never get work without an error ... (When I worked in the Lightscribe burner temporarily mounted on a tower, but never worked in this case, external, ...) ) In my research after the fact, I found this to be a hit and miss problem with many installed LightScribe DVD burner in an external box is of course primarily the responsibility of the manufacturers of DVD, but some are "certified" external speakers for now LightScribe support. The Vantec makes this claim, unfortunately. I've now found out that DVD Maker not really recommend the use of a LightScribe Internal DVD burner in an external box, and they blame the external case if you have an error. But how many people say they have success to successfully support an internal burner into an external case for LightScribe. It is almost 50/50. The case is part of the blame for the failure LightScribe ... So if you want to use this case for LightScribe, looking to check out. Try someone like an internal drive was particularly successful with LightScribe found posted in an outer casing. My Plextor PX-870A is not definitely LightScribe work in this case no mistake: There will always fail I'm sure at least that I have the latest firmware, latest OSX updates, the latest driver, latest version of burning software, and quite the latest All LightScribe version of Support files. My cable and mounting is perfect. Lightscribe not always fair, but the data / music / video is always burning. And after much research I have found that this is a common complaint in external enclosures. But otherwise, it is a first class housing .... 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Excellent product, good investment Garabito C. Before even opening this product the first thing I noticed was how the case feels solid and durable. Definitely high quality craftsmanship and built for eternity. When it came to my existing drive set in this case it's perfect! The connections fit very well and there was plenty of room to store the excess, if I have the entire unit together. The fan is very quiet. almost forgot it was there. And when a disc is inserted, I feel no vibration what so ever. * Since I am very cautious about the purchase, I understand photos.
