Dimm I bought this disc to a blank DVD-ROM, old, old was not even a tape recorder was read-only to be replaced and it was in a black box. This is a very good album, it seems well built, the tray is smooth and feels solid. I can not comment on the LightScribe feature, because I have not used. It was quite full, everything is included when I ordered this unit was the driver software, including firmware update live and a copy of Nero 8 Essentials. I will not install Nero 8, but if you do not have burning software, this is a good program for free. I have used other versions of Nero, and I've always been happy with them. No SATA cables or screws, this was no problem for me. I deducted one star, simply because there is no disk activity light on the drive. This is just the way the optical drives are now made, but I miss the light. It can be a little 'hard to find the eject button when the unit is completely black and mounted in black if I'm sure I will get used to it and maybe have a little "picky. All in all, this is a good, solid, rapid disc seems to handle all sizes of plates, except, of course, Blue Ray, and a reasonable price. And do not "half height" disignation you throw out, it's a tough standard size that fits a standard 5 1 / 2 inch drive. By Kumiko Cauley The specifications of this DVD are very good. If you need a LightScribe-compatible drive, there is some of the best specifications available, in reviewing. I preordered it from Amazon and it was delivered within the promised time. Upon receipt, I installed the drive (this unit only comes with Nero software CD and manual - SATA data or power cable) and the unit will not turn short - damaged disc. I tried to call Samsung customer service help, but in vain. The customer service from Samsung is totally unnecessary. Amazon customer service, however, it was great. They immediately sent a new drive (even before receiving the defective drive as a return) and I installed it. Now works like a charm. Amazon offers prepaid delivery to their warehouse.
