Gildart I bought this drive specifically for use with one of my Windows-based PCs. It works well with what I had expected, and Windows software included with the drive, is also wonderful and very welcome. I had not expected, however, that with my Macbook 1.83 GHz Core 2 Duo to work. My internal optical drive is dying, and while it is relatively easy to use a network drive for installation and material, it is certainly not so easy to go back and forth to the other desk. Documentation and all but one of the reviews were pretty clear that this is not a Mac-friendly product, so I was pleasantly surprised when Mighty MacBook jumped right on that play music CD into the drive. I was even more surprised if there is a DVD burned with the native / Finder / disc-burning program (no third party software to all participants). And I was happy to learn that he LightScribe free download for Mac, but I did not expect to work in Snow Leopard, but they do. It plays movies in DVD player software. I'm not sure if my version of DVD Player that shipped with my macbook, or is it something that came with my hard snow leopard, but the film has opened - impressive speed as a matter of fact. 38 of 48 people found this review helpful. Falsely advertised on Google. Tobin Bushart If you want an external Blu-ray on google and this has generated as the number one choice WARNING! This is not the LG HD DVD and Blu Ray is announced. LG DVD RFK does not work with Blu-ray according to my research, that makes this place as an option. He did a great job for all DVDs. My fault is not ready the fine print.
